You and your team have worked hard to build your brand and over the last few weeks, everyone has had to pause to get their Covid-19 message out.  While that is getting out there you still have work to do.  Pivoting back to your core business message can be difficult when resources are tight.  But you have an audience desperate for things to watch.  Now is the time to get creative.  Dust off that old footage and let's make something fresh.

FIVE TIPS FOR CREATING VIDEO FROM LEGACY CONTENT

1. Re-edit - You have footage from a video project you did last year on that hard drive (or securely stored on South Coast's servers*) that can be edited into a host of other content for different platforms.  It seems obvious to say, but a great editor can take the same footage and tell your story in a variety of ways. *Shameless promo, I'm sorry I couldn't help it. 2. Think platform - Because you made a video for your website or TV it doesn't mean that we can't make that footage work other places.  From that two-minute-promo video, you can create multiple social media posts that keep you relevant to your customers or employees.

3. Color it in - If Instagram has taught us anything it's that a filter can change how we feel about a photo.  Color grading your footage can do the same thing.  Giving your footage a fresh look can change the experience and story you are telling.

4. Just Add Motion Graphics - Combined with tip one, this is a powerful way to expand on any footage you have.  Adding motion graphics can deliver a variety of messages in a fun, entertaining way.  Another option is to make the video all motion graphics.  Animated text and cool music can get a lot of information out there.

5. Voice over Changes everything - Adding a voice-over from a talented artist and a great scriptwriter is a savvy way to re-use footage to craft a completely new message.  It doesn't have to stop there.  Even recording audio of your CEO off their smartphone at home could be used to transform a message.

Get creative with what you have.  There are ways to keep your message relevant in these unpredictable times.
